I wrote this song about a dystopic future 10 years ago after Obama signed the NDAA allowing for indefinite detention of citizens with a trial. Thomas Jefferson stated, "If the people let the Gov't decide what foods they eat and what medicines to take, their bodies will soon be a sorry state as those souls who live under tyranny." Why would he say that about the Government? By definition of Homeland Security, Thomas Jefferson would have been considered an "extremist." Why would he say that about medicine? Did he have the foresight to understand that if the Government were to force medicine on the people and took away their rights by doing so, it was because it was corrupt? What about when Rush stated, "we must put medical freedom into the constitution because the time will come when medicine will form into an undercover dictatorship and restrict the art of healing to one class of men?" Right now, people are begging for more Gov't to come in and save them, but little do they realize they are giving away precious freedoms by doing so.
